Drymen is ideally located for touring Scotland, with easy access to the Western Highlands, the central belt and the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Here are some of the attractions which can be found in the area:

  • Loch Lomond
    Loch Lomond is the largest fresh water Loch in the United Kingdom, 24 miles long and five miles wide and at its deepest point nearly 600 feet deep. For more information visit the Loch Lomond Portal and Visitors Centre.
  • The West Highland Way
    Scotland's first official long distance walk, the West Highland Way is a fantastic 95-mile trail from Milngavie to Fort William. The Way passes through Drymen, making it a natural stop-over location, or a place to explore parts of the Way. More information can be found at the official West Highland Way website.
  • The Rob Roy Way
    Starting in Drymen, the Rob Roy Way is Scotland's newest official long distance walking route. It follows paths used by Rob Roy MacGregor in the 17th and 18th centuries, and finishes in Pitlochry in the heart of Perthshire. More information can be found at the official Rob Roy Way website.
  • Glengoyne Distillery
    Located in nearby Killearn, a tour of the Dumgoyne Distillery gives you a glimpse of the unique production process of this famous single malt whisky. Visit the Dumgoyne website for more details.
  • Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park

  • Stirling
    The historic city of Stirling is only 30 minutes drive from Drymen, and offers visitors a wide range of attractions. Highlights include the magnificent castle and the Wallace Monument, commemorating William Wallace, whose life was celebrated in the film Braveheart.
  • Highland Games

  • Queen Elizabeth Forest Park
    Designated as a Forest Park in 1953, the QEFP is a wonderful place to visit for those looking to get away from it all. Walks, cycling routes, horse-riding, view points, fishing and much more. Detailed information can be found at the Forestry Commission website.
  • Glasgow & Edinburgh
    Glasgow and Edinburgh are within easy diriving distance of Drymen, and offer the visitor everything that could be expected of such major cities. Highlights include Edinburgh Castle and Glasgow Cathedral.
