Places to visit - Glasgow
30 minutes drive to the South of Drymen is Glasgow, steeped in history and brimming with exquisite Victorian architecture. Glasgow has a wealth of tourist attractions including the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) , The Burrell Collection, The Glasgow School of Art, The Willow Tea Rooms and so much more.
If you fancy some retail therapy then you're in luck as Glasgow has the well earned reputation for the best shopping in the U.K outside of London!
The boutiques and delis located in the cosmopolitan West End a certainly worth perusing or if designer labels are your thing the Italian Centre in the Merchant City should definitely be on your list. Whatever your preferences, Glasgow has something for everyone.
places to visit - Stirling
Only 30 minutes drive to the East is Stirling, population of nearly 100,00 and Scotland's newest and most vibrant city. Stirling has a wide range of shops, restaurants and cafes and offers a excellent mix of shopping with high street retailers sitting next to small independent retailers. Be sure to squeeze in a visit to The Thistle Centre and the newly refurbished Stirling Arcade.
Stirling has some wonderful historic tourist attractions including Stirling Castle, The Wallace Monument, Argyll's Lodging, The Beheading Stone and much more.

As Drymen is located in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park there's an abundance of outdoor activities suitable for all ages and abilities.

Walking
There's plenty of short walks in and around Drymen to keep you entertained or if you are looking for something a little more strenuous then Ben Lomond is nearby. See our walking section for more information.
Fishing
The area surrounding Drymen is a veritable paradise for fishermen and women of every level of experience. The waters of this area are the home to many different types of fish including Brown & Rainbow Trout, Perch, Pike, Salmon and Roach.
Golf
There are a number of local Golf Courses local to The Hawthorns including Strathendrick Golf Club and Buchanan Castle Golf Club. Please contact us if you would like us to make advance bookings on these courses for you.
Wildlife Watching and Photography
As we are in a national Park is goes without saying there's an abundance of wildlife, flora and fauna available for all calibers of photographer. Don't forget to bring your camera!
Watersports
We've got Loch Lomond almost right on our doorstep so there's plenty of water based activities to keep you occupied including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and more.
Horse Riding
if you are a horse riding enthusiast or would like to try it for the first time the area surrounding us is filled with trails and some of the best scenery Scotland has to offer. There are several stables in the local area and we can provide you with their contact details on request.
